This event is hosted by Lutheran Church of the Master as a gift to the community. Since 2015, the Mighty Gobbler has raised over $65,000 for local non-profit organizations.. Portions of this year's proceeds and donated canned goods will go the following charities:
Micah 6 Community is a community development organization based in a Pontiac food desert tasked with providing healthy food options through urban gardens, low-cost vegetable markets, and economic development projects.
Drawing from religious, business, civic and individual resources, the Interfaith Volunteer Caregivers work to respond to the ever-growing needs of older and physically challenged adults living in our communities who struggle daily to maintain their independence at home, while providing meaningful opportunities for volunteers of all ages to enrich their lives and live out their faith by helping others.
Canned good donations go to:
Troy People Concerned (“TPC”) is an information and referral agency. They assist the Troy residents who find themselves in a crisis situation by providing referrals to area agencies or by directly providing financial or other assistance. All canned good donations will be donated to Troy People Concerned.
